Hello, I’m Tameka and thank you for taking the time to visit my photography website. I’m an on location photographer meaning I come to you, or we go together to a special place to capture our images. I specialize in natural light portraits but that does not mean I might bring a light or two along with me for that extra boost when needed. I love shooting families, children, and newborns. ~About Me
I started out on the other side of the lens as a model and television personality. Having been in your shoes I understand how you feel and what your expectations are. When I’m not taking pictures I’m in my bathrobe enjoying a cup of joe with my two dogs by my side. On the weekends you’ll find me in a comfortable pair of jeans and a cozy t-shirt enjoying the day with my wonderful husband. I live in Los Angeles but frequent the Bay Area quite a bit to spend time with my friends. I love to laugh and make others laugh so don’t worry… I’ll get that natural smile out of you!
~The Philosophy
It’s an honor to do what I do. Being able to capture special moments and portraits that you are able to look back at years from now and smile, remember, and laugh. Photography to me is being able to transfer energy from real life onto paper keepsakes. My work has been described as unique, fresh, exceptional, and sincere which is exactly what I strive to achieve and surpass in each photo session.
~What to Expect
Each session is made to be a unique, relaxing, and fun experience. Your session will last 2-3 hours making sure that you do not feel rushed and have time to change outfits. When you book your session we have a small chat via email or phone discussing what you would like to achieve and what will need to be on stand-by to ensure that you will be getting just what you wanted.
Whether you wish to be dressed up or casual I always suggest wearing clothes that make you feel great and also express who you are as an individual. Feel free to play with hats, scarves, ties, and accessories. Stay away from white clothing or any busy prints or logos. If you have a hobby or talent that you love this is a great time to showcase it. Whether it is a hint of cheerleading, your riding crop, or your favorite paintbrush.
If you are an expecting mother the best time to capture your budding baby belly is between 30 & 32 weeks. Newborns are always best while new so I suggest booking your photo session before the baby is born. For the little ones have ready a favorite toy, book, or blanket and a few changes of clothes. Also have snacks on deck and let’s make sure everyone is well rested and fed. Don’t forget the wet wipes!
If you’re a new couple in love all I ask you to have ready is a few good stories to make you laugh and smile at each other. Be prepared to answer some fun smile provoking questions I may have for you.
~After the Session
Following your session I will send you a few sneak peaks from the shoot to share your excitement of your new images with family and friends. The best photos from the session will be available for viewing on your own personal and private link. You will be able to pick your favorite images for photo-retouching and order prints. Once full payment is made please allow up to 2-3 weeks for delivery of your CD and any prints you may have ordered.
